My Approach & Philosophy

Holistic

We are people, with a story and a history, not a diagnosis. You won’t be labeled or treated like a diagnosis in my office. My goal is to understand what makes you uniquely you. What the eras of your life have been like, the relationships that have shaped you, what you’ve been through and where you want to go.

Self-Determination

If what you’re doing is not serving you anymore, let me show you another way. Through actionable and practical tools, we can build a new roadmap together. I’ll provide techniques and skills to help you reframe and rewrite your path.

Emotions First

Sometimes we need to start with feelings. They can be clues or signalers of hidden roots that need tending to. We’ll give your feelings some air time, paired with discussion about how to feel better.

I am a Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic Trauma and Couples Therapist. I have always been drawn to psychology; I enjoy intuitive, creative, and analytical endeavors. Also, the gravitation towards the subject was also a way for me to make sense of the world and my own struggles. I am passionate about lending a non-judgemental and empathic ear to those who may have never had one.

I believe in an approach that guides and challenges towards realistic change. I seek to facilitate a deeper understanding of our inner worlds and how to play to our strengths. I incorporate a trauma, cultural, and social justice informed lens.

In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my two dogs (Bowser & Zion) and husband. I enjoy knitting, crafty things, photography, reality tv, going on walks, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and going out to eat (especially vegetarian-friendly places!)
